The Mouse That Roared!

We just recently wrapped up 'The Mouse That Roared' It's a political play about a tiny country with less than 6000 people that declares war on the United States...and wins.

This tiny 14th century Dutchy depends on an export of wine Pinot Grand Fenwick and some winemakers in California put out a cheep imitation stealing their label and everything. So this Dutchy does what is logical...Declaires war, since the U.S rehibilitates every country they defeat, this seems logical....untill they win. Little do they know the U.S. has created a terrible bomb The Q-Bomb which is capeable of destroying an enormous area. Grand Fenwick invades the United States with bows and arrows and captures this bomb on accident and is dumbfounded when they are under the impression that they must now rehibilitate The United States. Since Grand Fenwick has captured the Q-Bomb, The U.S. has no choice other than to surrender to this Dutchy.

I played Claire Beston, The United States Secretary of State. (My nickname is now Condoleezza Rice thanks to this play)

Claire Beston was my first major role at my high school. So as you can imagine I was beyond thriled when the cast list was posted. (I also got the understudy forthe main female lead Gloriana)

In the scene below Claire (me) and the President (Ryan Bennett) argue over what to do about the situation with Grand Fenwick

It was a lot of hard work, but it was all worth it in the end. We had an amazingly fun cast and I'm going to miss them a lot.

Now we get to start working on the musical. We're putting on Elton John's Aida in April. I can't wait!
